I first became intrigued with pixels in August 2005- I was looking for some cute animated images to use as emoticons on MSN back when I thought MSN was cool, when I stumbled upon Kat's late website, Scribbleland. I'd never heard of pixels before but when I saw how tiny and detailed Kat's little images were, I totally fell in love with them. I couldn't believe that she had drawn them herself, since they looked so perfect, and I wanted to find out how to make some pixels for myself.

I read a few tutorials online, then I opened up Microsoft Paint, zoomed in and started to draw things pixel by pixel. I've always loved drawing things, so I became addicted to pixelling immediately. My first pixels were horrendous but I was proud of them anyway so I decided that I needed to make a website to display them on...thus, my first website; Lucid-Dreams was born.

The term 'Lucid Dreams' refers to dreams in which you know that you are dreaming, so you can go anywhere and do anything you want to do. They are amazingly vivid dreams and I've always experienced them, so I thought that 'Lucid-Dreams' would be the perfect name for my site. Lucid-Dreams started off on Piczo, because at the time, my main objective was to have a website to house my pixels; I didn't actually care about how the website looked. But then I learned how to use HTML and moved to Freewebs.

My website was eventually hosted by a few people, but they both quit the pixelling scene. I didn't really want to be hosted again, as I was tired of having a URL change every few years, so I decided to purchase something a little more permanent: my own domain. Unfortunately, every possible variation of Lucid-Dreams was taken, so I knew I needed to come up with a brand new name for my website.

I spent weeks trying to think of a new website name, until finally, I decided on the name Catch a Star. I asked my mother for her opinion on the name and she loved it, which kinda sealed the deal. On 19th September 2008, I went ahead and purchased catch-a-star.net...and here I am today.
